Tien Shan Trails and Yurt Nights

This is an active mountain trekking trip with repeated days on foot and time above 3,000 m. Read the trip’s health and packing information carefully and consider the altitude, terrain and consecutive walking days when deciding whether the route is suitable for you.
Mountain weather can change the trail and daily distances. You should be comfortable walking at least 10-20% farther than the listed distances if conditions require an alternative route. Arrive with suitable equipment and preparation for the stated ascents and descents.
Most trekking nights are in shared yurts or tents. Facilities are basic, toilets are separate and showers are limited. The crew sets up tents and provides thin sleeping mats; you are welcome to help.
The itinerary includes little sightseeing time in Bishkek. Consider extra nights before or after the trip if you would like to explore the city more fully.

The trip includes three hotel nights, two nights in yurt camps and four nights in tent camps. Hotel accommodation is generally twin-share. Similar alternatives may be used if the planned property is unavailable.
Yurts are multi-share and may be mixed-gender. Camping conditions are basic, with separate toilet facilities and limited showers. The crew sets up the tents, and thin sleeping mats are supplied. Tents are twin-share, with single tents provided for solo travellers.
Early hotel check-in cannot be guaranteed. If rooms are not ready, luggage can be stored while you explore. Extra nights booked before or after the trip may involve changing rooms.

An arrival transfer can be arranged in advance. If you pre-book a transfer, provide your flight details no later than 21 days before departure. Your driver will wait outside the international arrivals lounge at the meeting point described on your transfer confirmation.

If you are delayed or cannot find your driver, use the local emergency contact in your final documents.

If you make your own way from the airport, official and unofficial taxis are available outside. The Yandex app can also be useful locally. If taking a taxi, agree on the price before getting in. The official taxi rate to the hotel is about USD 10, and the ride usually takes 30-60 minutes depending on traffic.
