- Best Option: E-Visa. You can apply for approval online through the Tanzanian Immigration website before you go. It’s the smoothest process.
- Visa on Arrival: Available at international airports like Kilimanjaro (JRO) and Dar es Salaam (DAR). Have USD in cash for the fee (usually $50-$100, depending on nationality).
- Passport Validity: A passport valid for at least six months beyond your date of entry and having two blank pages is required.

This is a major health and entry requirement. You must visit a travel medicine clinic 4-6 weeks before traveling.
- Mandatory: If you are traveling from or via a country where there is a risk of Yellow Fever transmission, you will need a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate.
- Routine & Recommended: Routine vaccinations (MMR, Tetanus) should be current. Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, and Cholera (oral) are highly recommended.
- Malaria: Tanzania is a malaria-endemic area. Your physician will prescribe anti-malarial drugs. There is no exception.

- In the Vehicle: Always listen to your guide. Never stand up or get out of the vehicle without specific instructions.
- On Foot: Only walk within designated areas or during guided walking safaris. Under no circumstances must you approach wild animals.
- General Safety: Overall, Tanzania is a safe destination for travelers. However, normal care should be taken with regard to petty theft in urban areas, and valuables should never be left unattended
