Today’s journey takes you through over 800 years of history, starting in Cesis — one of the best-preserved medieval towns in the Baltics.
Despite centuries of conflict, Cesis has remained largely unchanged. Explore its medieval castle, scenic park (often used for concerts and festivals), historic wooden buildings and brewery dating back to 1590.
From here, continue to Ligatne, where you’ll visit a secret Soviet bunker hidden underground. Built as a nuclear shelter, it remained unknown to locals for decades until after the fall of the Soviet Union.
After this fascinating stop, continue to Riga — the largest capital city in the Baltics. In the evening, you may want to head out with your group to explore the Old Town and grab dinner together.
