  • Tere tulemast! Welcome to Tallinn — Estonia’s charming capital where medieval The atmosphere meets modern life. Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be greeted by a local representative and transferred to your hotel right in the heart of the city.
    Tallinn instantly draws you in with its red-tiled rooftops, church spires, pastel-colored buildings and a growing scene of trendy restaurants and bars. If you arrive early, take some time to wander the streets and soak in the atmosphere before your welcome meeting at 6 pm.
    After meeting your group and leader, head out together for a welcome dinner in the Old Town. This UNESCO World Heritage-listed area is especially magical in the evening, when the historic streets are softly lit and full of character.

    It’s very important that you attend the welcome meeting as we will be collecting insurance details and next of kin information at this time.   • After breakfast, dive into Tallinn’s rich history on a guided walking tour led by a local expert. Once a city of knights, merchants and soldiers, Tallinn has preserved much of its medieval character, making it feel like stepping back in time.
    You’ll explore the old city walls, see the last remaining Gothic town hall in Northern Europe and visit St Olaf’s Church. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views over Lower Tallinn and admire the iconic spires that define the skyline.
    The tour also includes Toompea Castle — now home to Estonia’s parliament — and the impressive Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. You’ll stop at scenic viewpoints and have time to browse artisan shops and studios scattered throughout the Old Town.
    The afternoon is yours to explore however you like. Maybe rent a bike or hop on a tram to Kadriorg Park, where many of the city’s museums are located.

  • This morning, leave Tallinn behind and travel toward Soomaa National Park. Here, you’ll visit a beautifully restored family farm dating back to 1868. Today, it operates as an organic apple orchard and small production facility.
    Enjoy a tasting of local cider or organic soft drinks before continuing your journey to Parnu — Estonia’s beloved summer capital. Known for its beaches, vibrant nightlife and creative scene, Parnu offers a completely different vibe.
    After arriving, join your leader for an orientation walk to get your bearings. The rest of the day is free — explore the town, relax by the sea or treat yourself to one of the many spa experiences.
    Tonight, stay at a special Feature Stay property — a beachfront spa hotel located right on the white sands of Parnu Beach. It’s the perfect place to unwind.

  • Today’s journey takes you through over 800 years of history, starting in Cesis — one of the best-preserved medieval towns in the Baltics.
    Despite centuries of conflict, Cesis has remained largely unchanged. Explore its medieval castle, scenic park (often used for concerts and festivals), historic wooden buildings and brewery dating back to 1590.
    From here, continue to Ligatne, where you’ll visit a secret Soviet bunker hidden underground. Built as a nuclear shelter, it remained unknown to locals for decades until after the fall of the Soviet Union.
    After this fascinating stop, continue to Riga — the largest capital city in the Baltics. In the evening, you may want to head out with your group to explore the Old Town and grab dinner together.

    On the way to Riga Central Market — one of the largest markets in Europe — you’ll pass the Freedom Monument, a powerful symbol of Latvia’s independence.
    At the market, sample local specialties like smoked fish and creamy cheeses before sitting down for a traditional lunch. Then, raise a glass of Riga Black Balsam — a famous herbal liqueur believed by locals to cure just about anything.
    The afternoon is free for you to explore more of Riga at your own pace.

    Explore its Old Town, stroll along the pedestrian streets and visit the Venta Rumba viewpoint.
    Later, cross into Lithuania and arrive in Klaipeda, where you’ll enjoy a relaxing evening.

  • This trip takes place across regions where the weather can vary significantly depending on the season. Early spring and late autumn can be quite chilly, especially in the evenings, while rain is possible at any time of year. During summer, temperatures can rise up to 30°C. Be sure to check the forecast before your trip and pack clothing suitable for a range of conditions.
Visa information
Visa details are provided through Sherpa, a third-party service. The “Add connection” feature only shows transit visa requirements, not full entry visas. Additional service fees apply if you purchase a visa via Sherpa.
Accommodation

The accommodation listed in the day-by-day itinerary is intended as a guide and may occasionally change. In rare cases where our preferred hotels are unavailable, similar properties of the same standard will be used.
We always request that rooms are prepared in time for group arrivals, especially if arriving before standard check-in hours. However, this cannot always be guaranteed. If rooms are not ready, you’ll be able to store your luggage and start exploring your destination. On some trips, shared day-use rooms may be available until check-in.
Occasional alternative accommodationOn rare occasions, due to availability issues, alternative hotels may be used. These will always match the standard of the originally planned accommodation.
Twin share basisRooms on this trip are generally twin or multi-share. Solo travellers will be paired with another traveller of the same gender, based on passport information. In some cases, facilities may be shared rather than private, and occasionally you may share accommodation with travellers from another Intrepid group.
Check-in timeWhile we aim to have rooms ready upon arrival, early check-in cannot always be guaranteed. If needed, you can leave your luggage at reception and begin exploring.
Pre/post trip accommodationIf you’ve booked additional nights before or after the tour, you may be required to change rooms for those stays.

Its central location puts you within walking distance of key attractions, shopping areas and cultural landmarks, allowing you to fully experience the atmosphere of the city from the moment you arrive.
InstructionsAn arrival transfer is included in your trip. To arrange this, you must provide your flight details at least 14 days prior to departure.
If you have booked the transfer, your driver will meet you in the Arrivals Hall holding a sign with your name and the Intrepid logo. As there are often many drivers waiting, please look carefully for your name.
If your flight arrives early, please wait in the Arrivals Hall. If you are delayed by more than one hour after your scheduled arrival time or cannot locate your driver, contact the local office in Tallinn at +372 56 43 733.
The transfer from the airport to the hotel usually takes around 20 minutes, depending on traffic.
Alternatively, taxis are readily available outside the Arrivals Hall at Tallinn Airport.
If you are arriving via Tallinn Ferry Terminal and would like a transfer, please inform your booking agent at least 14 days in advance. Your driver will meet you inside the terminal holding a sign with your name.
