Uluru Light and Canyon Stone

The Red Centre can be extreme. Days may be very hot, the Australian sun is strong year-round and evenings can get surprisingly cold. In winter, temperatures can drop below freezing, so pack sun protection, plenty of water capacity and warm layers.

This trip has early mornings and some long drives through very remote, sparse parts of Australia. Vehicle space can feel tight, and the days are full because the route packs a lot into four days. Settle in, enjoy the desert scenery and arrive ready for movement.

Sunrise, sunset and weather conditions change throughout the year, so the order of activities may shift to give the group the best possible experience. First Nations experiences may also be unavailable at times if guides have other cultural commitments, and alternative activities will be arranged if needed.

This trip forms part of some longer combination tours. Travelers wanting a longer Australia itinerary can connect it with broader Australia routes, while travelers wanting a camping-based Red Centre route may prefer a separate camping-style Uluru and Kings Canyon option.

Accommodation is hotel-based for 3 nights. The accommodation style shown in the day-by-day itinerary is a guide and may change if preferred properties are unavailable. If a change is needed, a similar standard will be used whenever possible.

Hotels are asked to prepare rooms before the group arrives, especially when arrival is earlier than normal check-in. Immediate check-in is not always possible, so luggage may be stored while the group explores or waits for rooms.

The trip begins with a 6 pm welcome meeting at the joining point hotel. Alice Springs Airport, airport code ASP, is about a 20-minute drive from the Mercure. A local airport shuttle bus meets arriving flights for an additional cost and drops passengers at hotels around town. Taxis are also available. There are no Uber services in Alice Springs.
