Trip moments from our travelers
Before you book you should know
Is this trip right for you?
Pack light and keep your luggage small, as you’ll be traveling on public transport with limited storage space. You’ll need to lift your bags onto racks, navigate cobblestone streets, and carry them up and down stairs.
This trip is designed for independent-minded travelers who also enjoy the support of a local leader and the company of a like-minded group. The itinerary includes a mix of guided experiences and free time, with your leader offering the best local recommendations. Be sure to budget for optional activities, and book any that require reservations at least a month in advance.
Accommodation is twin-share, with solo travelers paired with someone of the same gender. Many European hotels use twin beds rather than doubles, and rooms can be compact, sometimes with shared bathrooms. Elevators may not always be available in older buildings.
In summer, temperatures can exceed 40°C, so bring sun protection, wear light layers, and stay hydrated. Many hotels do not have air conditioning. In winter, expect cold and wet conditions, so pack warm, waterproof clothing. Choose your travel season carefully based on your comfort.
Travel is primarily by train, offering fast and convenient connections between cities. In some destinations, public transport like trams, buses, or metro is the best way to get around.
Comfortable shoes are essential—you’ll be on your feet most days.
Visa information
Visa details are provided through Sherpa, a third-party service. The “Add connection” feature only shows transit visa requirements, not full entry visas. Additional service fees apply if you purchase a visa via Sherpa.
Accommodation
Accommodation (11 nights hotel, 3 nights hostel)
The accommodation listed in your day-to-day itinerary is a guideline and may occasionally change. In some cases, we may need to use alternative properties of a similar standard due to availability.
We always request early room preparation for arrivals, especially when reaching hotels before standard check-in times. However, this is not always possible, so you may not be able to access your room immediately upon arrival. In these situations, you can store your luggage and explore the destination, and in some cases, shared day rooms may be available until all rooms are ready.
