Yes. Travel insurance needs to be obtained before your trip even begins, as there are certain destinations that require proof of coverage for all foreign visitors.
At a minimum, your policy must include:
- Medical Expenses;
- Emergency Evacuation and Repatriation.
The requirements for coverage vary from trip to trip, and it is important to review the section on "Travel Insurance" within our Essential Trip Information.
It will not be possible to be a member of this group until the tour leader has confirmed that you can be a part of it:
- Your Insurance Policy Number;
- Your Insurance Provider’s 24-hour Emergency Contact.
It should also be noted that for travelers residing in the USA, the European Union, or Switzerland, travel insurance cannot be made a requirement. However, for travelers residing in the mentioned regions who choose to travel without travel insurance, they will have to sign a Travel Insurance Waiver Form.
