Trip moments from our travelers
Before you book you should know
Is this trip right for you?
  • To finish this trip, you should feel confident and comfortable riding a bicycle.
  • There is one main leader riding with the group and another who drives the support vehicle and acts as a back marker when needed. If the support vehicle can’t follow the group directly (for example on bike-only paths), your leader will assign someone from the group to ride at the back.
  • Most of the cycling takes place on paved roads and dedicated bike paths along the Danube, with only occasional gravel sections, so no advanced cycling skills are required.
  • Because many European cities include cobblestones and uneven streets, it’s best to avoid wheeled suitcases and instead bring a backpack. Since this is an eight-day trip, a large backpack should be enough for all your belongings.
  • Accommodation is on a twin-share basis, meaning solo travellers will share a room with another traveller of the same gender. A single supplement is available if you prefer your own room. Space in Europe is limited, and hotel rooms are often small, though central locations usually make up for it. Couples should note that double beds are not always available, and rooms often have two single beds that can be pushed together. In some cases, bathrooms may be shared rather than ensuite.
  • This trip is designed to show you a lot in a short time and can easily be combined with a longer journey if you want to explore more. You may also want to consider the Cycle Central Europe & the Danube trip.
Visa information
Visa details are provided through Sherpa, a third-party service. The “Add connection” feature only shows transit visa requirements, not full entry visas. Additional service fees apply if you purchase a visa via Sherpa.
Accommodation
Hotel (7 nights)
Accommodation is based on twin-share rooms. Hotels may vary depending on availability but will be of similar standard throughout the trip.
Rooms may not always be ready on arrival. In such cases, luggage storage will be available.
Hotel standards in Europe may differ from other regions, with smaller rooms and fewer amenities such as kettles or air-conditioning.

Important notes

  • It is very important that you provide your height at the time of booking so we can make sure you are allocated a properly sized bicycle for your trip. If your height is not provided before arrival, we cannot guarantee that the correct bike size will be available for you.
  • A single supplement is available if you prefer not to share a room on this trip. This supplement applies to all nights of the tour and is subject to availability. Please speak with your booking agent for more details.
  • Bike helmets are compulsory on this trip. As helmets cannot be rented locally, we strongly recommend bringing your own from home. Alternatively, you may purchase an approved and properly fitted helmet at the start of the trip, and our leaders can usually assist you with this.
  • On this trip, there is one main leader who rides with the group, and a second leader who drives the support vehicle and acts as a back marker when required. In situations where the support vehicle cannot follow directly (for example on bike-only sections), your leader will appoint someone from the group to ride as the back marker.
  • An e-bike option may be available on this trip at an additional cost. Availability is limited, and e-bikes are offered strictly on a request basis only. A request does not guarantee confirmation — only a confirmed booking secures an e-bike. Please ask your booking agent for more information when reserving your trip.
