DELTA, FALLS AND ELEPHANTS

Botswana Highlights

This 9-day Botswana adventure starts and ends at Victoria Falls, then sweeps into a landscape built for wildlife lovers: elephant waterholes, Chobe River hippos, Okavango Delta channels, and wide-open lodge nights under southern African skies. You will cross through Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia's Caprivi region, traveling by private vehicle, boat, and mokoro while getting close to the animals, waterways, and easygoing bush rhythms that make this corner of Africa feel larger than life.

Why you'll love this trip

  • Okavango by Mokoro
Drift through reed channels and lily lagoons in a traditional dugout canoe.
  • Chobe River Wildlife
Watch elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and bright birdlife gather along the riverbanks.
  • Elephant Sands Nights
Sleep near a waterhole where elephants may wander in just meters away.
  • Victoria Falls Energy
Start and finish near the thundering falls, with time for big optional adventures.
  • Wildlife Trust Visit
Learn about rescue, rehabilitation, anti-poaching work, and human-wildlife conflict.
  • Caprivi River Country
Cross into Namibia's river region, where game reserves and sunset water views meet.
This is a compact safari-style trip with a huge sense of place: water, wildlife, border crossings, and lodge nights all woven together. It is ideal for travelers who want Botswana's big natural moments without losing the warmth of small-group travel.

Trip moments from our travelers
Before you book you should know
Is this trip right for you?
Botswana can get seriously hot, especially in September and October, when daytime temperatures may reach 34-38 C. Some remote lodges do not have air conditioning because they run on solar power or generators. Wildlife viewing is seasonal, so the exact safari experience can change from one departure to another. Expect early starts, a few long driving days, and border crossings where patience goes a long way.
Visa information
Visa details are provided through Sherpa, a third-party service. The “Add connection” feature only shows transit visa requirements, not full entry visas. Additional service fees apply if you purchase a visa via Sherpa.
Accommodation
Hotel (2 nights), Lodge (4 nights), Basic Lodge (2 nights).
The stays are comfortable, but some remote properties keep things simple by design. Power may come from generators that are switched off overnight, so bring a battery pack and make sure any sleep apnea machine can run on battery power. Air conditioning and constant electricity are not guaranteed in all lodges, which is normal in this part of Africa.
