Yes, comprehensive travel insurance is a mandatory requirement for all EurotourClub guests and is highly recommended for every traveler.
- Medical Coverage: Your policy must include substantial medical coverage and emergency evacuation.
- Trip Protection: It should also cover trip cancellation, interruption, and delays.
- Activity Coverage: Ensure your policy is valid for planned activities such as hot air ballooning, hiking, or sailing.
Tipping is customary and appreciated in Turkey for good service, though not as regimented as in the U.S. It's a way to show satisfaction.
- Restaurants: A tip of 10% is standard in sit-down restaurants if a service charge is not already included on the bill.
- Guides & Drivers: Tipping your tour guide (€5-10 per day) and driver (€2-5 per day) at the end of a multi-day tour is expected and a significant part of their income.
- Small Services: For porters, hamam attendants, or in cafes, rounding up or leaving a few Turkish Lira is appropriate.
It is not recommended to drink tap water in Turkey. Both locals and visitors typically drink bottled water, which is inexpensive and widely available.
