Three countries, one easy rail trip.

Classic Paris to Amsterdam

This 8-day EurotourClub journey links three of Western Europe's most exciting countries without turning the trip into a blur. You'll start in Paris with Montmartre's backstreets and a dinner that supports a meaningful local cause, then ride north to Brussels for a privately guided look at the city's multicultural identity. From there, spend a day among Bruges' canals and waffles, continue to Rotterdam for bold architecture and a floating dairy farm, try your hand at Delft tile painting, and finish in Amsterdam with canal-side neighborhoods and a classic Dutch farewell dinner.

Why you'll love this trip

  • Rail Through Three Countries
Share homemade dishes in local homes and experience the warmth behind Balkan hospitality.
  • Montmartre Beyond the Postcards
Watch a cooking demonstration in Dolno Dupeni and taste fresh, homemade local flavors.
  • Brussels With a Local Voice
Visit a centuries-old smokehouse and learn how Montenegro’s famous Njeguši ham is made.
  • Bruges, Canals and Waffles
Meet olive growers, apple farmers, and a beekeeper while tasting regional ingredients at the source.
  • Rotterdam's Future Farm
Explore Prizren and Skopje with local insight, food stories, and beautiful city views.
  • Delft Blue, Amsterdam Nights
Paint your own Delft tile, then end with Amsterdam canals and Dutch comfort food.
This trip is a smart, low-stress way to experience Paris, Belgium, and the Netherlands in one well-paced week. You get the big-name cities, but also the neighborhood walks, local makers, and small moments that make Europe feel personal.

Tour program
  • Bonjour and welcome to Paris. Your trip begins with a 6 pm welcome meeting, so try to arrive with enough time to settle in before meeting your leader and fellow travelers. If you get into the city early, you might head for the Eiffel Tower, wander along the Seine, or spend a few hours at the Louvre.
After the meeting, head into Le Marais for dinner at Le Reflet, a restaurant with a purpose. The restaurant works with Les Extraordinaires to support employment and inclusion for people with mental disabilities, while serving classic French food in one of Paris' most atmospheric neighborhoods. After dinner, return to your accommodation for the night.

  • Special information
Please make sure you attend the welcome meeting. This is when your travel insurance details and emergency contact information will be collected. If you expect to arrive late, let your travel agent or the hotel reception know. You can ask at reception or check the lobby notice for the exact meeting location.
Le Reflet is closed during holidays and throughout August. If your departure falls during that period, dinner will be arranged at a local French brasserie instead.
If you plan to visit the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Catacombs, or Musee d'Orsay, book tickets online before the tour. Official sites are the best way to avoid ticket-window lines.
  • After breakfast, hop on the metro for a local-guided walk through Montmartre. Instead of only checking off the famous viewpoints, you'll get into the neighborhood's quieter corners and hear why this hilltop district has always pulled in artists, dreamers, and troublemakers. Along the way, pass places connected to Van Gogh and Picasso, see the Montmartre vineyard, stop near the Moulin Rouge, and enjoy a fresh croissant with a view over Paris.
Your tour wraps up around midday, leaving the afternoon free. You might walk the Champs-Elysees toward the Arc de Triomphe, head into a museum, linger at a cafe, or simply let Paris unfold one block at a time.

Once there, take a private walking tour led by a Zinneke guide, a Brussels local born elsewhere. It's a fitting way to understand the city, since generations of newcomers have helped shape its culture, neighborhoods, food, and identity. The evening is free, so you might go looking for Belgian beer, chocolate, or a plate of moules frites.

You'll see landmarks like Burg Square's Gothic City Hall and the medieval Belfort tower in Market Square, with a sweet stop for a Belgian waffle along the way.
The afternoon is open for you to explore Bruges at your own pace. Walk along the canals, climb a tower, duck into a museum, or take a boat ride if the weather is right. In the evening, return to Brussels by local train with the group.

Today also includes a visit to the world's first floating dairy farm. Later, visit the Royal Delft Museum and get a closer look at the history and craft behind the city's famous blue-and-white pottery. Trip moments from our travelers
Before you book you should know
Is this trip right for you?
  • This is a rail-based trip, so you'll be traveling between cities mostly by train. It's one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to cover ground in Europe, but you'll need to handle your own luggage when boarding, getting off, and moving through stations.
  • Hotel rooms in central European cities can be smaller than what many U.S. travelers are used to. The tradeoff is location: you'll usually be close to the action, public transportation, restaurants, and the neighborhoods you came to see.
  • You'll also use local transportation such as metro, trams, public buses, and local trains in some cities. It's part of traveling the local way, and it gives you a better feel for daily life, but you may hit busy platforms, stairs, and commuter crowds.
Visa information
Visa details are provided through Sherpa, a third-party service. The “Add connection” feature only shows transit visa requirements, not full entry visas. Additional service fees apply if you purchase a visa via Sherpa.
Accommodation
Hotel - 7 nights
The accommodation listed in the day-by-day itinerary is a general guide and may change when needed. If our preferred hotel is not available, we'll arrange another property of a similar standard.
We ask hotels to prepare rooms in time for group arrivals, especially when we arrive before standard check-in. Early check-in is not always possible, though. If rooms are not ready, we can store luggage and head out to explore, or use shared day rooms on some departures until guest rooms become available.
Occasional alternative accommodation
On rare occasions, hotel availability may require a change from the usual accommodation. When that happens, a similar standard of hotel will be used.
Check-in time
Hotels may not be ready for immediate check-in if the group arrives before the normal check-in hour. In that case, luggage can be stored while the group explores the city.
Pre/post trip accommodation
If you book extra nights before or after the tour, you may need to change rooms between those extra nights and the main trip accommodation.
Facilities
Some European hotels may not have private en suite facilities or air-conditioning. Kettles and refrigerators are also not standard in many hotels.
