Meet your local leader and fellow travellers at a welcome meeting this evening before setting out to experience the city's energetic atmosphere. If you arrive early, take the opportunity to explore iconic landmarks such as the Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum, or join an optional excursion to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels or the lush Mekong Delta. After the meeting, perhaps gather with your group to enjoy your first taste of authentic Vietnamese cuisine at a local restaurant.

    Today's journey takes approximately 10 hours, including the border crossing between Vietnam and Cambodia and a stop for lunch. You'll remain on the same public bus for the entire trip, making the border formalities at Moc Bai (Vietnam) and Ba Vet (Cambodia) straightforward, with your local leader on hand to assist throughout the process. If you prefer a quicker option, you may choose to arrange a flight between Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh at your own expense.
  • Spend the day exploring Phnom Penh's complex history with a guided visit to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21), a former school transformed into a prison during the Khmer Rouge regime. Continue to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, a moving memorial that offers important insight into one of Cambodia's darkest chapters and honours the lives lost during this tragic period.
