Trip moments from our travelers
Before you book you should know
Is this trip right for you?
This journey takes place aboard a traditional dhoni – a wooden motor-sailing boat that has long been part of Maldivian life and culture. All cabins are located on the lower deck and feature twin bunk beds and private ensuite bathrooms. As cabin space is limited, packing light is highly recommended.

As with most boats, some engine noise can be heard while sailing and occasionally when anchored. Light sleepers may wish to bring earplugs for a more comfortable night's rest.
As much of the trip is spent on the water, travellers should feel comfortable moving around the vessel, including using stairs. While some people quickly find their sea legs, others may prefer to bring seasickness medication just in case.

A good level of swimming ability is essential to fully enjoy the snorkelling and water-based activities included throughout the trip.
With long days spent outdoors and on the water, sun protection is important. Be sure to pack sunscreen, a hat and lightweight clothing, and remember to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Please refer to the Essential Trip Information for the full recommended packing list.

Visa information
Visa information is provided by Sherpa, a trusted third-party. The “Add connection” feature only shows transit visa requirements and does not cover full entry visas. U.S. citizens traveling to Italy for stays under 90 days typically do not need a tourist visa. Additional service fees may apply if you choose to purchase a visa through Sherpa. Always check official sources before traveling.
Accommodation
Traditional Dhoni Boat (7 nights)

Spend seven unforgettable nights aboard a traditional dhoni – a motorised wooden vessel that has been used in the Maldives for generations. Accommodating just 12 passengers alongside a friendly crew of five, including your captain and onboard chef, this small ship offers an intimate and relaxed sailing experience.
The dhoni features six comfortable cabins, each with private ensuite facilities and charming wooden interiors that reflect the character of traditional Maldivian boats. During the day, unwind on the sundeck as you watch the islands drift by, relax in the dining area or bar, or make use of the onboard snorkelling equipment to explore the vibrant underwater world.

As evening falls, settle into a sun lounger with your favourite drink in hand and watch the sky transform into shades of gold, pink and orange as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean.

Important notes

Accommodation Onboard
For the duration of the trip, you'll stay aboard a traditional dhoni-style vessel — a wooden motor sailing boat designed for life on the water. Each cabin is located on the lower deck and features a private ensuite bathroom and a set of twin bunk beds.

Cabin assignments are arranged by the skipper upon arrival based on the group composition, meaning specific cabins or berths cannot be requested in advance. Solo travellers will share a twin cabin with another traveller of the same gender. For those who prefer additional privacy, a limited number of single cabins are available for an additional supplement, subject to availability. Travellers booked together as a couple will be accommodated in the same cabin.
Living aboard a traditional sailing vessel means embracing a more compact style of accommodation, but for most travellers, the unique experience of waking up on the water each day more than makes up for the cosy surroundings.
Dietary Requirements

If you have specific dietary requirements or allergies, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or severe food allergies, please inform your booking agent or travel consultant at least 10 days before departure. This allows the onboard chef sufficient time to arrange the necessary supplies before the trip begins.

Snorkelling Equipment
Snorkelling is one of the highlights of this sailing adventure, with numerous opportunities to explore the Maldives' spectacular reefs and marine life throughout the journey. Masks, snorkels and fins are provided onboard for all travellers to use during the trip. Guests are also welcome to bring their own equipment should they prefer to use familiar gear
