Trip moments from our travelers
Before you book you should know
Is this trip right for you?
No two African adventures are ever exactly alike. Early starts are a regular part of the journey, whether to maximise wildlife viewing opportunities or to make progress on longer travel days. Road and weather conditions can vary, so flexibility is key—sometimes the unexpected detours become the most memorable parts of the trip.

This is a participatory overland camping adventure, offering an authentic and immersive way to experience Africa. Travel in a purpose-built vehicle, camp beneath the stars, visit remote communities and lend a hand with camp life along the way. While some nights may be rustic, the reward is unparalleled access to spectacular landscapes, rich cultures and incredible wildlife.

A variety of optional activities are available throughout the journey, allowing you to tailor the experience to your interests. Availability and pricing may vary locally.
You may also be travelling alongside adventurers continuing from longer overland expeditions, creating a unique atmosphere filled with shared stories and experiences from across the continent.
Visa information
Visa information is provided by Sherpa, a trusted third-party. The “Add connection” feature only shows transit visa requirements and does not cover full entry visas. U.S. citizens traveling to Italy for stays under 90 days typically do not need a tourist visa. Additional service fees may apply if you choose to purchase a visa through Sherpa. Always check official sources before traveling.
Accommodation
This adventure includes 16 nights of camping with facilities, offering a true overland experience across East Africa. Accommodation is primarily in twin-share canvas dome tents, with camping mattresses provided for comfort.

Camping conditions vary throughout the journey and reflect the remote and adventurous nature of the route. While campsites generally provide basic amenities, facilities may be simpler than those found in Western countries. Expect rustic bathrooms, occasional cold-water showers and an authentic outdoor experience surrounded by nature.

On some nights, camps may be located within the grounds of hotels or lodges, where room upgrades may be available subject to availability and payable locally. Travellers should be prepared to participate in camp life and embrace the rewarding experience of sleeping under Africa’s vast, star-filled skies.
