Independent Short Breaks offer the perfect balance between freedom and convenience. You’ll travel independently while all the key logistics, activities and transfers are organised for you in advance. Unlike group adventures, these trips do not include a dedicated Trip Leader throughout the journey. Instead, your included tours and experiences in Jordan will be operated by trusted local Intrepid partners, sometimes with other travellers joining along the way. Depending on the departure, you may enjoy some experiences privately or share them with fellow adventurers. If you prefer travelling in a fully guided group with a dedicated leader, your booking agent can recommend alternative tours.

This itinerary is designed to maximise your time and includes a packed schedule of sightseeing and travel. Expect some early starts and full days of exploration, making it ideal for active travellers wanting to experience the highlights of Petra and beyond in a short amount of time.

Visa information is provided by Sherpa, a trusted third-party. The “Add connection” feature only shows transit visa requirements and does not cover full entry visas. U.S. citizens traveling to Italy for stays under 90 days typically do not need a tourist visa. Additional service fees may apply if you choose to purchase a visa through Sherpa. Always check official sources before traveling.

Accommodation on this journey includes hotel stays for 2 nights. The accommodation listed in the itinerary serves as a guide and may occasionally change depending on availability. In rare cases, alternative hotels of a similar standard may be used to ensure your comfort throughout the trip.

Hotels across Jordan and the wider Middle East are generally simple yet comfortable, and three- or four-star properties may differ from accommodation standards in some Western countries. Rooms are clean and welcoming, though occasional minor maintenance issues may occur. Guests are encouraged to report any concerns directly to hotel staff or local representatives so they can be resolved quickly.
Rooms are arranged on a twin-share or multi-share basis. While early room preparation is requested whenever possible, immediate check-in upon arrival cannot always be guaranteed, particularly before the standard 2 pm check-in time. In these situations, luggage storage will be available so you can begin exploring right away. If you’ve booked additional pre- or post-tour accommodation, you may be required to change rooms between stays.

Due to the desert climate, weather conditions can vary greatly throughout the year. Winters can be surprisingly cold, especially between December and March, while summers from June to August are often extremely hot. Some hotels may have limited heating or air-conditioning, and hot water in showers may only be available during peak morning and evening hours. Many hotels and restaurants in the region may also avoid serving alcohol due to local customs and religious practices. Breakfast is included in most accommodations, with specific meal inclusions listed in the daily itinerary.
