Trip moments from our travelers
Before you book you should know
Is this trip right for you?
  1. Chinese cuisine traditionally features plenty of meat and seafood dishes. Vegetarian and vegan travellers are encouraged to review the itinerary carefully to ensure the included food experiences suit their preferences, though many China trips can cater to different dietary requirements.
  2. China’s famous landmarks and cultural attractions are popular with both local and international visitors, so some waiting time should be expected at major sites. Comfortable footwear and a little patience will go a long way.
  3. We recommend travelling with light luggage, as you’ll need to carry your bags between stations, accommodation and on and off trains throughout the journey.
Visa information
Visa information is provided by Sherpa, a trusted third-party. The “Add connection” feature only shows transit visa requirements and does not cover full entry visas. U.S. citizens traveling to Italy for stays under 90 days typically do not need a tourist visa. Additional service fees may apply if you choose to purchase a visa through Sherpa. Always check official sources before traveling.
Accommodation
Hotel (9 nights)
Accommodation Comfort
Some hotels in China may have firmer mattresses than travellers are used to at home. If needed, extra quilts or additional bedding can usually be requested from the hotel staff for added comfort.
Smoking in Hotels
Smoking is still common in many parts of China, and not all hotels provide dedicated non-smoking rooms. In some larger hotels, central air conditioning may allow smoke smells to travel between rooms. While hotels do their best to clean and air out rooms before arrival, traces of smoke may occasionally remain. If this becomes an issue, please speak with your tour leader about the possibility of changing rooms.
Wi-Fi Access
Wi-Fi is commonly available in hotel reception areas and is sometimes accessible in guest rooms as well. Your leader can recommend the best places to connect during the trip.
Guesthouses
In smaller or rural areas, accommodation may be in locally run guesthouses operated by families. These stays are simple but welcoming, with more basic facilities than standard hotels, and towels may not always be provided. Occasionally, group members may stay in nearby guesthouses within walking distance of one another.
Flights
Please note: flight arrangements

We can assist with booking flights from any airport in the United States that is convenient for you. Occasionally, alternative routing or airlines may need to be arranged due to availability, but we will always ensure your flights align with your tour dates and provide the same level of comfort and reliability. Our goal is to make your journey to Italy smooth, stress-free, and perfectly timed with your tour.
