Special information
Today’s total travel time is approximately 3 hours, with around 4 hours of walking. Please ensure you have sturdy footwear with good grip, as the hike can be challenging.
Between March and May, rainfall may cause erosion along the trail, potentially extending the driving time and shortening the trek. You’ll also cross several shallow streams (ankle-deep), so be prepared for your footwear to get wet.
On Day 1, your leader will confirm whether permits for Mt. Pinatubo have been secured. If access is not granted by local authorities, you’ll instead visit Tutulari Gorge — a spectacular natural site located on ancestral lands of the Aeta people, only recently opened to visitors in 2022. Here, you’ll travel by jeep, enjoy a short scenic hike, and share a picnic lunch with the local Aeta community.
