    Your adventure begins in Tbilisi with a welcome meeting scheduled for 6 PM today. If you arrive early, consider visiting the Georgian National Museum to explore the country’s rich history or take a stroll through the Dry Bridge Flea Market, where you can browse unique artwork and local handicrafts.
    In the evening, you may wish to join your fellow travelers for dinner and sample traditional Georgian dishes such as khachapuri (cheese-filled bread) or khinkali (dumplings).

  • After breakfast, set out on a guided walking tour of Tbilisi. Explore the Old Town and pass key landmarks such as Baratashvili Bridge, the Gabriadze Leaning Tower, the Peace Bridge, and Sioni Cathedral.
    After the tour, enjoy free time to discover the city at your own pace. You may choose to visit Narikala Fortress, relax in the famous sulphur baths, or experience Tbilisi’s vibrant cultural scene at the Opera and Ballet Theatre.

  • This morning, travel to Georgia’s former capital, Mtskheta. Upon arrival, visit the medieval Jvari Monastery and the iconic Svetitskhoveli Cathedral.
    Continue to the Tserovani Refugee Settlement, a community built to house more than 8,000 people displaced during the 2008 Russo-Georgian War. Then visit the Ikorta enamel jewelry workshop — a social enterprise that supports local women and youth. Here, you’ll meet the artisans, hear their stories, and enjoy a light lunch.
    Later, drive to the historic city of Kutaisi. On arrival, take a walking tour to see landmarks such as City Hall, the Opera House, Mon Plaisir Arch, Golden Marquee Palace, and the lively Mtsvane Bazari Market.
    In the evening, enjoy free time to explore at your own pace. You may wish to visit Gelati Cathedral, explore the ruins of Bagrati Cathedral, or dine at a local restaurant — your leader will be happy to recommend the best spots.

    Upon arrival in Mestia, take time to explore this remarkable region, known for its dramatic mountain landscapes, medieval villages, and iconic stone tower houses dating from the 9th to the 13th centuries.
    In the evening, join a hands-on experience to learn how to make traditional Georgian cheese, then enjoy a classic local dish — khachapuri (cheese-filled bread).
    Later, settle into a cozy local guesthouse for the night.

    The guesthouse in Mestia has limited rooms with private facilities. On the rare occasion, you may be allocated a room with shared facilities on Day 4 and Day 5.
  • This morning, drive to Ushguli. Famous for its medieval watchtowers and stunning views of Mount Shkhara, Ushguli is one of Georgia’s four UNESCO World Heritage sites and among the highest permanently inhabited settlements in Europe.
    Upon arrival, visit Lamaria Church before setting out on a scenic hike through the village. Along the way, enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by breathtaking mountain views.
    If you prefer a more relaxed pace, you can stay in the village and explore at your leisure — visit a local museum or wander through historic sites such as the ruins of Queen Tamar’s Castle.

  • Please note that some travel days are long, and road conditions may be uneven in areas away from the main tourist routes. On these days, departures are scheduled early in the morning.
The Caucasus region is mountainous, and the terrain is often hilly — even in cities. You should be comfortable managing your luggage on stairs and uneven surfaces.
  • If you have additional time, consider extending your journey with the “Azerbaijan & Georgia Experience” (trip code: KFSGC), which begins in Baku and includes a deeper exploration of Azerbaijan before continuing through Georgia.

All rooms have private bathrooms, wireless Internet access, telephone, TV and hair dryer.

Instructions
Please make sure that you provide your flight details no later than 14 days before departure to book your arrival transfer with us.
For your confirmed arrival transfer, you’ll be met in the arrivals hall of Tbilisi International Airport (TBS) by a transfer representative holding an Intrepid sign. In case of flight cancellations, changes, if you experience severe delays at immigration, baggage collection or customs, or if you are not able to find the driver, please call +995 595 200 050
Alternatively, you can take public transport or a taxi. Take a licensed taxi with a meter, avoid any drivers who approach you directly. The journey takes about 30 minutes and the fare will be approximately GEL50-70.
You can take public bus #337 from Tbilisi International Airport and go out at Academy of Sciences station which is 700 m away from hotel. It takes approximately 1hour and 15 min to get to hotel by bus
