Rise early this morning and set off toward the breathtaking Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival at the crater, swap your overland vehicle for open-roof 4WDs and take in the incredible views from the rim before descending to the crater floor. Here, wildlife roams freely across lakes, rivers, woodlands and open plains — and with animals less wary of vehicles, you’ll have fantastic opportunities to observe them up close. Keep watch for wildebeest, lions, zebras, cheetahs, buffalo, gazelles and the endangered black rhino.
Later, continue your journey to the legendary Serengeti National Park, where vast, ever-changing landscapes stretch endlessly to the horizon. From lush green plains after the rains to golden, sun-scorched savannah in the dry season, the Serengeti is alive with thousands of animals moving in great herds. Its name comes from the Maasai word siringet — “the land that goes on forever.”
Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch along the way before arriving at your campsite in the heart of the park. As night falls, drift off to sleep to the distant calls of nocturnal wildlife — a truly unforgettable African experience.
