Please pack as light as possible for this trip. You’ll be travelling on public transport where luggage space is limited, so be prepared to lift your bags into overhead racks, carry them up and down stairs, and navigate cobblestone streets.
Don’t let the summer heat slow you down — temperatures in some regions can exceed 40°C. Stay comfortable by using sun protection, wearing breathable layers, and keeping hydrated throughout the day.

If you have extra time to explore, you might consider extending your adventure with our Journey through Central Europe & Romania, which ventures further east into Romania and Bulgaria. Alternatively, our Vienna to Dubrovnik trip continues south through the Balkans, visiting cities like Belgrade and Sarajevo before finishing on the Adriatic coast in Dubrovnik. Many departure dates are designed so you can easily combine these trips for a more in-depth experience.

Visa information is provided by Sherpa, a trusted third-party. The “Add connection” feature only shows transit visa requirements and does not cover full entry visas. U.S. citizens traveling to Italy for stays under 90 days typically do not need a tourist visa. Additional service fees may apply if you choose to purchase a visa through Sherpa. Always check official sources before traveling.

Accommodation
Stay in a mix of comfortable hotels (12 nights) and local pensions (2 nights), giving you both convenience and a more authentic feel of the region.
Occasional Alternative Accommodation
The listed accommodation is a guideline. In rare cases, we may need to arrange alternative stays due to availability, but we’ll always ensure a similar standard.
Twin Share Basis
Accommodation is on a twin or multishare basis. Solo travellers will be paired with someone of the same gender (based on passport details). At times, facilities may be shared rather than ensuite, and occasionally you may share with travellers from another group.
Check-in Time
We aim to have rooms ready upon arrival, but early check-in isn’t always possible. If rooms aren’t available yet, you’ll be able to store your luggage and start exploring right away.
Pre/Post Trip Accommodation
If you’ve booked additional nights before or after the trip, you may need to change rooms, depending on availability.
Facilities
Some accommodations may not include private ensuite bathrooms or air conditioning. It’s also worth noting that many European hotels do not provide kettles or mini fridges as standard.

Occasionally, alternative routing or airlines may need to be arranged due to availability, but we will always ensure your flights align with your tour dates and provide the same level of comfort and reliability.
