After a short welcome meeting, set out on your first walk, following the peaceful River Eden toward the picturesque village of Crosby-on-Eden. Tracing the path of Hadrian's Wall through open countryside and historic bridleways, you’ll soon reach Irthington. From there, enjoy a short transfer to Haltwhistle, where you’ll settle in for the next three nights.

Here, you’ll see some of the Wall’s most defining features. Trip moments from our travelers
Before you book you should know
Is this trip right for you?
This journey follows a point-to-point walking route, meaning you’ll be moving between locations each day. While it doesn’t require a high level of fitness, a moderate level is recommended to fully enjoy all included activities. Be sure to pack sturdy, waterproof walking shoes (preferably ankle-high) along with comfortable clothing.

Your main luggage will be transferred for you, but you’ll need a daypack to carry daily essentials. Some sections of the walk include steep climbs, descents, and uneven — sometimes slippery — terrain, so walking poles can be helpful if you prefer extra support.
England’s changing seasons create stunning landscapes, but the weather can be unpredictable and often cool. Dressing in layers is essential, as conditions may shift throughout the day — so come prepared for both sunshine and rain.
Visa information
Visa information is provided by Sherpa, a trusted third-party. The “Add connection” feature only shows transit visa requirements and does not cover full entry visas. U.S. citizens traveling to Italy for stays under 90 days typically do not need a tourist visa. Additional service fees may apply if you choose to purchase a visa through Sherpa. Always check official sources before traveling.

Occasional Alternative Accommodation
The accommodation listed in the itinerary serves as a guide. In rare cases, we may need to arrange alternative properties due to availability, but these will always be of a similar standard.
Twin Share Basis
Accommodation is based on twin or multishare rooms. Solo travellers are paired with someone of the same gender, according to passport details. Please note that some rooms may have shared facilities rather than private ensuite bathrooms, and occasionally you may share with travellers from another group.
Check-in Time
We always aim to have rooms ready upon arrival, even if it’s earlier than standard check-in times. However, this isn’t always possible. In such cases, you’ll be able to store your luggage and start exploring your destination.
Pre/Post Trip Accommodation
If you’ve booked additional nights before or after the trip, you may need to change rooms for these extra stays.
Facilities
Some accommodations may not offer private ensuite bathrooms or air-conditioning. It’s also worth noting that many European hotels do not typically provide kettles or refrigerators in the rooms.
Flights
Please note: flight arrangements

We can assist with booking flights from any airport in the United States that is convenient for you. Occasionally, alternative routing or airlines may need to be arranged due to availability, but we will always ensure your flights align with your tour dates and provide the same level of comfort and reliability.
