After breakfast, travel to the village of Drelaj, tucked deep within the Rugova Valley. Towering above you, the Rugova Mountains rise to over 2,400 meters and have been protected as a national park since 2013. From here, set out on a guided hike through some of Kosovo’s most breathtaking landscapes.
Often compared to Switzerland, the valley unfolds in a patchwork of tall grass meadows, wildflowers, rustic wooden huts, and the gentle sound of cowbells echoing through the air beneath the slopes of Hjala Mountain.
After your hike, slow things down with a well-earned lunch at a local family home — simple, authentic, and full of flavor. Return to your hotel in the early evening, and if you feel like it, unwind with a glass of Birra Peja, the local brew crafted right here in town.
