Trip moments from our travelers
Before you book you should know
Is this trip right for you?
This is a physically demanding hiking trip designed for active travellers who are comfortable spending long hours on their feet. In some areas, there will be no support vehicle available, meaning you’ll hike from one point to another without assistance. You should be prepared for full days on the trail — up to 9 hours of walking and distances that can exceed 20 km.

To experience the most scenic and rewarding sections of the Via Transilvanica, the itinerary includes transfers between regions, which may involve longer drives. Many of the hikes are point-to-point, with no shortcuts or option to turn back once you’ve started, so it’s important to carefully review each day’s distance, terrain, and difficulty level in advance.

Proper preparation is key to enjoying this journey. Be sure to check the packing list thoroughly and come equipped with suitable clothing, footwear, and essentials to stay comfortable and confident throughout every stage of the hike.
Visa information
Visa information is provided by Sherpa, a trusted third-party. The “Add connection” feature only shows transit visa requirements and does not cover full entry visas. U.S. citizens traveling to Italy for stays under 90 days typically do not need a tourist visa. Additional service fees may apply if you choose to purchase a visa through Sherpa. Always check official sources before traveling.
Accommodation
Accommodation Overview
Your stay includes comfortable hotels (8 nights) and one night in a local pension, offering a more authentic, regional experience. Please note that the accommodation listed in the itinerary is indicative and may occasionally change — in such cases, a similar standard will always be provided.
Flexibility & Check-in
We aim to have rooms ready upon arrival, especially if you reach the destination before standard check-in time. However, this isn’t always possible, so you may need to store your luggage and explore the area or relax in shared spaces until your room is available.
Room Sharing
Accommodation is based on twin or multishare rooms. Solo travellers are paired with someone of the same gender. At times, facilities may be shared rather than ensuite, and in rare cases, you may share with travellers from a different group.
Additional Nights
If you’ve booked pre- or post-trip accommodation, you may be required to change rooms depending on availability.
Facilities
Some accommodations may not offer private bathrooms or air conditioning, and it’s common for European hotels not to include kettles or fridges.
Flights
Please note: flight arrangements

We can assist with booking flights from any airport in the United States that is convenient for you. Occasionally, alternative routing or airlines may need to be arranged due to availability, but we will always ensure your flights align with your tour dates and provide the same level of comfort and reliability. Our goal is to make your journey to Italy smooth, stress-free, and perfectly timed with your tour.
