After the meeting, why not head out together for a delicious dinner and your first taste of Balinese cuisine?

Attending the welcome meeting is essential, as we’ll collect your insurance details and next-of-kin information. If you expect to be late, please inform your travel agent or hotel reception in advance. You can also check with reception or look for a notice in the lobby for details on the meeting location.
  • Start your day with a guided walking tour of Ubud alongside your local leader. Wander through lush rice fields, pass an alang-alang valley—home to the wild grass used for traditional roofing—and visit a Balinese home for coffee while learning about daily rituals and offerings.
The walk finishes in central Ubud, giving you free time to explore its cafés, galleries and boutique shops at your own pace. In the evening, experience the magic of a traditional Kecak dance performance—an unforgettable spectacle powered not by instruments, but by rhythmic human chanting, and a true highlight for many travellers.

  • The small town of modern Pompeii has a wonderful Old Town square – the perfect place to spend some time with the locals, drink an authentic Italian coffee and watch the world go by. Today’s highlight is a guided tour of the ruins of ancient Pompeii. Until 79 AD, Pompeii was a thriving Roman trading centre, but it was frozen in time when Mount Vesuvius erupted, burying 2000 people and their homes under a layer of ash. The city was never rebuilt and largely disappeared from people’s minds until the ruins were rediscovered in the 18th century. Immaculately preserved ruins include villas, temples, theatres and bustling markets, providing insights into how Romans lived, worked and interacted 2000 years ago. The remainder of the day is yours to relax, or if you like, you can visit the nearby Herculaneum, renowned for its fossilised archaeological treasures.

Along the way, visit small, intricately carved temples before finishing your ride back in Ubud.
After lunch, travel into the hills to the serene village of Undisan. With the majestic Mt Agung rising in the background, this peaceful corner of Sidemen reveals a more untouched, authentic side of Bali, far from the crowds.

  • You have a free day to explore the cliffside town of Sorrento today. Maybe stroll along the marina or cool off in the waters of the small beaches. Visiting Capri is another option, accessible by a hydrofoil. Natural grottoes dot Capri’s rugged coastline, while inland, narrow roads wind through fragrant citrus groves and past villages of flat-roofed white houses. In Capri, you can take a boat trip to the Blue Grotto (La Grotta Azzurra), where the water shines with an extraordinary blue translucence – a result of the refraction of the sunlight outside. End the day the Italian way with a demonstration of Gelato making with your group.

Along the way, enjoy a traditional lunch of Tipat Blayag—rice wrapped in young coconut leaves—served with chicken and vegetable side dishes.
After exploring the village, continue by road into the mountains, following the scenic crater rim to a fishing village on the shores of Lake Batur. Here, the dramatic silhouette of Mt Batur (1,717 m) rises from a vast caldera, creating one of Bali’s most striking landscapes. The lake sustains the local fishing community, while many residents also work as guides for the volcano trek.
