This morning is all about Telavi's farmers market, where the scene is lively, loud and wonderfully local: spices, fresh produce, meat stalls and plenty to look at. From there, visit Tsinandali Estate, once owned by Georgian poet Alexander Chavchavadze, who was among the first to bottle wine made using the qvevri method. The estate includes a memorial house, landscaped gardens, a winery, wine cellar, hotel and cafe. Continue to Alaverdi Monastery, a UNESCO-listed site with roots in the 6th century, then climb into the mountains along the famous Georgian Military Highway. Dinner is with the group tonight in Gudauri.
